Breast cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in women. Although 1 in 8 women will be affected by breast cancer, early detection leads to improved survival.

?One challenge for some women is dense breast tissue,? says author Suneela Vegunta, M.D., a women?s health specialist at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Vegunta says there are millions of women in the U.S. with dense breast tissue. It?s found in nearly half of women eligible for breast cancer screening, particularly in younger women. She says breast density may decrease after menopause.

?Dense breast tissue is an independent risk factor for breast cancer and may also mask small breast cancers, thereby reducing the sensitivity of a screening mammogram,? says Dr. Vegunta.

She says that since legislation requiring providers to notify women about breast density was passed in several states, more women are aware of their breast density and are reaching out to health care professionals with questions.

?Supplemental breast cancer screening modalities can help diagnose additional cancers that are possibly masked by dense breast tissue on mammograms,? says Dr. Vegunta. ?Our paper provides information and guidance for health care professionals and patients on the benefits and drawbacks of various supplemental screening modalities in the background of using a risk-based stratification of patients with dense breast tissue.?

Dr. Vegunta says that dense breast tissue is only one risk factor for breast cancer. If a patient has additional risk factors, such as family history of breast cancer, experienced early menstruation, has not given birth to a child, or has a prior history of abnormal breast biopsies, she should discuss enhanced surveillance with her health care provider.

Dr. Vegunta says consensus-based guidelines are not available related to screening women with dense breast tissue. Also, randomized controlled studies have not been performed that review the effect of supplemental screening versus mammography alone on breast cancer mortality. She says these studies, along with guidelines for screening women with dense breast tissue, are needed.

When you’ve played football for twenty years, the competition stays inside, and when you lose a point, miss a volley or miss a backhand, something snaps inside. Totti, Di Biagio, Albertini and Candela proved it once again. They called it “exhibition”, “friendly challenge”, but in the end they were given with a racket, trying out shots in front of the “real” padel players.
Demonstration of strength. And a little revenge. Philadelphia (4 won-2 lost so far) crushes Atlanta (3-3) in the first cross between the two teams after game-7 of the semifinal in East 2021, that of the apotheosis of the Hawks, the collapse of the Sixers and the beginning of the crisis between Ben Simmons and the franchise of the city of brotherly love. With the Australian still in the pits, waiting to decide if and when he wants to return to the field with Philadelphia, this time Doc Rivers’ team does not miss anything, demolishing the certainties of Atlanta, knocked out for the second game in a row. Not even Danilo Gallinari is saved from the greyness of the Hawks: the blue is visibly still running in and closes with 4 points and 4 rebounds in just over 12 ‘.

(13 points with 5/16 shooting). “Physically we are healthy, but we still have to find an agreement in attack: we are out of sync, and this is reflected in our defense – explained coach McMillan at the end of the match -. Players have to figure out for themselves what’s wrong. I can say it, I can show it, but until they really understand it there is no way to improve. We have a lot of potential, but until we understand that we have to exploit it as a team there will be no way to use it ?.

The researchers performed genetic analyses of humans and rhesus macaques to identify a specific gene, NPSR1, that increases risk of suffering from endometriosis. The results reveal a potential new nonhormonal drug target that may lead to improved therapy. Their results are published in Science Translational Medicine.

The Oxford team, led by corresponding author Dr. Krina T. Zondervan, had previously found a genetic linkage to endometriosis on chromosome 7p13-15 by analyzing DNA from families containing at least three women diagnosed with endometriosis. The Baylor team, led by senior author Dr. Jeffrey Rogers, verified this genetic linkage in the DNA of rhesus monkeys with spontaneous endometriosis at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This validation justified further research through in-depth sequencing analysis of the endometriosis families at Oxford, which narrowed down the genetic cause to rare variants in the NPSR1 gene. Most of the women carrying these rare variants had stage III/IV disease. The Baylor researchers similarly sequenced rhesus monkeys and again showed suggestive evidence also in this species. Finally, an Oxford study of more than 11,000 women, including patients with endometriosis and healthy women, identified a specific common variant in the NPSR1 gene also associated with stage III/IV endometriosis.

?This is one of the first examples of DNA sequencing in nonhuman primates to validate results in human studies and the first to make a significant impact on understanding the genetics of common, complex metabolic diseases,? said Rogers, associate professor at the Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor. ?The primate research really helped to provide confidence at each step of the genetic analysis in humans and gave us motivation to carry on chasing these particular genes.?

The insights revealed in this genetic analysis point to a potential new drug target. As part of this collaboration, researchers at Bayer, in scientific partnership with Oxford University, used an NPSR1 inhibitor to block protein signaling of that gene in cellular assays and then in mouse models of endometriosis. They found this treatment led to reduced inflammation and abdominal pain, thus identifying a target for future research in treating endometriosis.

?This is an exciting new development in our quest for new treatments of endometriosis, a debilitating and underrecognized disease affecting 190 million women worldwide. We need to do further research on the mechanism of action and the role of the genetic variants in modulation of the gene?s effects in specific tissues. However, we have a promising new nonhormonal target for further investigation and development that appears to address directly the inflammatory and pain components of the disease,? said Zondervan, head of the department of women?s and reproductive health, professor of reproductive and genomic epidemiology and co-director of the Endometriosis CaRe Centre at Oxford.

Dr. Thomas Tapmeier, now at Monash University, is co-corresponding author of the study.

In Tokyo at one point they heard “Volare” and “Magical Nights” from the loudspeaker. This time, in the Santa Chiara Auditorium, an ?Italia, Italia? choir arrives, which was missing at the Olympics without an audience. The Sport Festival embraces the golden relay runners. And first of all Filippo Tortu, the comeback wizard, begins to explain that athletics is an individual sport, but “the relay is the maximum expression of a team”. What is striking is the naturalness with which Lorenzo Patta, Marcell Jacobs and Fausto Desalu, together with Tortu, talk to each other, deliver jokes that enchant the audience, tell in their own way that winning moment that will forever bind their stories. A bit like a musical group, it easily draws on a repertoire that has been tried a thousand times.
The evening is a journey that does not want to reach the finish line. Because in the end, people “besiege” the Four Musketeers and don’t let them leave that easily. Lorenzo Patta is “as calm as he was then”, says Tortu. The almost rookie from Tokyo confirms: ?Fear? Absolutely not. I didn’t feel pressure, it seemed like a regional match for me, there was no public and I’m used to competing without an audience ?, says the Sardinian sprinter who admits, as a former football player, that his child idol has always been Francesco Totti. The line of the evening, however, is signed by Fausto Desalu, the fractionist number three. ?Why are you doing so well in the corners?? Ask Margherita Granbassi and Andrea Buongiovanni. He buzzes around the question and then shares: “In fact, if there were 100 meters in the curve, I would be the best!”. There is also a moment of great tenderness, we experience it when Granbassi asks Desalu why she defines sporting activity as ?a job?. Fausto replies that ?behind those 10 or 20 or 45 seconds there is a lot of commitment, no sacrifices, but sacrifices yes. Before, however, there was more: a sensation. “We weren’t favorites, but we felt something, we felt we had more chances to win than to lose.” A sensation that multiplies during the last fraction. ?I was very lucid, I felt like a fire inside, pure competitive spirit?. Jacobs recounts how important Tortu was for his growth: ?It was a great stimulus for me and I took them many times from him. I really have to thank him ?. The last to leave the stage is Desalu, who is full of photos and would like to extend the evening even more: ?If you want, we’ll see you outside and let’s continue?.

If the coach Kieran Crowley expected comforting indications from the match of the National A in Spain to draw men and close the group of 33 players that he will have available for the Autumn Nations Series, he can only find himself disappointed. The Azzurri, entrusted to the leadership of Alessandro Troncon, in fact, in Madrid remedy a possible (sensational) fool by bending Leon’s XV 13-11 in comeback, but then suffering until the final whistle. Tomorrow, however, the Italian coach will inevitably have to sum up and try to understand who among the players who took to the field today will be able to enter the group with which Italy will face the challenges with All Blacks (November 6 in Rome), Argentina (13 in Treviso) and Uruguay (on the 20th in Parma).

Errors

?

It is not a good start for the Azzurri, too hasty and with an excess of aggression that borders on indiscipline, as when a dangerous attack fades for a forward. At the first attack, Spain passes instead: deep touch in the 22, Italy forced to defend itself incorrectly to avoid damage, but at the second infringement (which also costs Tommaso Meloncello a yellow card) Bautista Guemes decides to go for the goalposts and 12 ‘unlocks the result. Five minutes later Italy earns a good free kick, Leonardo Marin goes to find a nice touchout near 5 meters, but the Spanish defense disrupts the maul and causes a turnover. Spain retains possession from the scrum, but instead of kicking they play risky hand in their own 22, first opening to the right, then returning to the left, with great competence, climbing up to halfway. Climb also allowed by a bizarre arrangement of the blue defensive line. Spain takes risks and plays, but also has an individual technical competence that perhaps is not expected, plus Italy continues to grant penalties. And he still risks on 29 ‘, when after a touchdown in the 22 and another good possession, the dive into the ruck of the prop Jon Zabala shatters all the work. The extreme Ange Capuozzo emerges from the Italian mediocrity in the 31st minute, resolving a stalemate in attack with a perfect kick to find a deep touch. The forwards try to make meters, but are promptly rejected and when Marcello Violi tries to give speed, the backs are immediately attacked by the fast climb of the Spanish defense. A foul in the ruck by the Fijian flanker Ilaitia Gavidi allows Marin to find the deep penaltouche, but nothing good comes out of the throw-in, indeed a forward gives possession to the hosts, who immediately overturn the game front. At the end of the blue scrum, much higher, he earns two free kicks, on the second Marin goes into touch at 5 meters: the throw is perfect, the maul is well triggered, but Lorenzo Cannone has the bad idea of ??trying to do everything alone, he exits with the oval to launch himself towards the goal, he is tackled, remains isolated, commits held. Punishment for Spain and end of the first half.

Yellow and comeback

?

And it is not that the second half opens better: captain Pettinelli’s lightness, who sees himself overcome by the extreme John Bell and tries to remedy with a grip in the neck under the eyes of the referee, for an inevitable yellow card. And punctual at 7 ‘the goal arrives: after a scrum around 22 and a blue infraction, the Spaniards play on the advantage, Guemes grubber behind the defense, Meloncello is to cover but in falling back from the dive he incredibly loses the oval , on which Bell launches for a very easy destination. At this point, one might finally say, the blues shake up: at 52 ‘Marin shortens his place, then about ten minutes later, on an uncertain Spanish defense on the blue percussion, the blue number 10 sees a hole in front of him, he slips into it. and fly all alone under the poles. The opening realizes the transformation and then at 64 ‘slips another placed for 13-8. At 68 ‘Guemes answers him from the pitch for -2. Spain from a free-kick in the middle of the field goes to play for the touch, but the maul does not make way and the Azzurri conquer the turnover. There is evident fatigue among the men in the red jersey, but incomprehensibly the Blues prefer to kick and give the ball to their opponents: the choice turns out to be effective, because the defense is finally positive and with excellent pressure prevents the Spaniards from making the way. Indeed, we go to play a touch close to the 22 Spaniards, but after a long attack phase, Andrea Zambonin commits a foul in the breakdown, on the excellent Spanish defense, and goes back. The situation repeats itself just when you enter the last minute: possession regained, but kept blue and last possession to Spain, which tries to the limit, but a last forward on 10 meters condemns her to defeat.

For the first time in the history of the series, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will receive a Year 2, with more expansions than those launched after the main game’s release. A rather curious circumstance, mainly dictated by the additional time required by the next chapter of the saga. Additional time needed for two reasons: the difficulties encountered in video game development during the pandemic and the ambitions placed in the project that will follow Valhalla, the still mysterious Assassin’s Creed Infinity. Infinity will be a significantly different title from Valhalla: the subject of rumors and then confirmed by Ubisoft itself, it will be an online platform that will contain multiple experiences, among which it is rumored that remakes of old chapters and, perhaps, a recovery of multiplayer will be found.

The experts –

But the times are not yet ripe and this is how Assassin’s Creed Valhalla comes back into play, which is about to extend its expected life cycle with a new, and unpredictable, round of content. We talked about it with the experts of Access the Animus, the most recognized and appreciated AC community in the world, with dozens of videos, very popular social accounts and many collaborations with Ubisoft itself. In particular, the commitment to decipher the Isu Language, an authentic language coined specifically for the Assassin’s Creed universe, has caused a stir among fans and insiders. The development house has invited them several times to its offices in Montreal and Quebec City (where the two leading teams in the production of the main games of the saga reside): the level of trust in them is so high that it has allowed them to participate in test of the titles in preview to be able to collect the opinion. Also for this reason, it becomes very interesting to find out what they think and what their speculations are (with some spoiler on the plot of Valhalla, you have been warned) on the first Year 2 in the history of the series.

Year 1 –

Before entering into the merits of Year 2, it is time to give a look at Year 1, which brought as a dowry, in addition to a series of free updates such as river raids, two paid expansions: The Wrath of the Druids and The Siege of Paris. According to the Access the Animus team, the DLCs are “decent”, with positive aspects concerning the settings (the first is set in Ireland) and the historical fidelity to the events of the time. However, four inconsistencies are evident, experts explain. First of all, both DLCs ?although historically set years after the last historical events of the main game, are considered as if they were happening in parallel with the first narrative arcs of the main game itself. So there are DLC characters who say they have talked or interacted with other characters who have actually been historically dead for some time ?.

Both in The Wrath of the Druids and in The Siege of Paris, then the enemies belong to two religious orders and not to the Templars, historical enemies of the saga and the Assassins, on the other hand, are practically absent in both contents. But it is the plot of the series in general that does not get too much hands on it: “the events related to the First Civilization”, the ancient race that preceded human beings as they are known today, in the language of the saga, “are also in this case limited in DLC “. Overall, the post-launch period of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the previous chapter, is considered superior especially in terms of paid expansions.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Year 2 –

That should change dramatically with the second year of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, though. According to Access the Animus, it will be “the setting that will amaze, because we know, or at least we can hypothesize with a certain degree of confidence, that at least the first DLC of Year 2 will be mythological”. A hypothesis confirmed by this week’s leak about Dawn of Ragnarok, which seems to be set in the realm of the dwarves, Svartalfheim; after all, in June, Ubisoft had explained that “Eivor has not finished with Odin yet”.

?In fact, the two sequences of the main game of Valhalla with a mythological setting (Asgard and Jotunheim) have Odin as the main protagonist and this is due to the fact that Eivor is a reincarnation of the Isu Odin who lived about 75,000 years earlier. Thanks to this, Eivor is able to see some of the memories of the Isu Odin, but through the “mythological filter” with which as a child she learned about the Norse gods, and that is why we do not see the events related to Odin in a pure Isu setting, but in the aforementioned mythological settings ?, say the experts. “Self Eivor isn’t done with Odin yet, it will mean that Eivor will relive other memories of Odin in a similar way to what was done in the main game. They will be memories of the Isu / First Civilization era (and therefore will be of great interest to hardcore fans, always very attracted to these themes) but set in mythological locations “.

The portal –

In announcement trailer in Year 2 a mysterious portal is shown fleetingly. But what is it about? “It is not known at the moment what function it has in terms of plot, but for the purposes of the teaser the portal is important because there are two types of runes and writings on it,” they explain from ATA. ?Mainly what you see written on the portal is a type of language called Isu language, which in essence is the written language of the Isu / First Civilization (which therefore acts as a further clue to make it clear that the next DLC will show memories of the Isu era, but in a mythological sauce) ?.

The experts add that “at the top, in the center of the portal, there is another symbol that does not belong to the Isu language: it is a Nordic-Germanic rune called m-rune or Mannaz and which in several cases has been used to represent one of the nine realms of Norse mythology, that is Muspelheim, the land of flames and home of the fire giants and their leader Surtr. ?. The latest leaks seem to confirm that the first DLC of Year 2 should not be set in the kingdom of Muspelheim but a Svartalfheim; however, the plot should also feature Muspelheim and in particular an attack on the realm of the dwarves, and this may be enough to justify the rune on the portal.

The “translation” of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla –

On the portal, Access the Animus decrypted (by collecting compliments from Ubisoft) Isu language that anticipates an important role for Loki. ?Our translation of the Isu language on the portal is ‘Forsennato, what have you done?’, Where ‘The Forsennato’, within the plot of Valhalla is the name given to Odin by Loki and his partner Aletheia, during the Isu era. The hypothesis is that here it is Loki or his partner who is talking and that therefore in the next DLC Odin does something extremely serious or wrong. That said, it is possible that other Isu called Odin ‘The Forsennato’, so it may have been other characters who uttered this phrase ?.

The translation work required was massive and it’s interesting to take a look behind the scenes. “We passed from another Isu language phrase hidden in the teaser in none other than a repeated sound that is heard in its final and obtainable analyzing the spectrogram of this sound. This other sentence read: ‘What do you really understand? Would a blind man, trying to see, go mad? ‘ In this case, the sentence was also signed, by Loki: the ‘blind’ is in all probability Odin, notoriously blind in one eye in Norse mythology and equally blind in one eye also in the Isu plot of Valhalla. So, the hypothesis we extract from these sentences is that, sometime during Year 2, we may again be faced with some kind of confrontation between Loki and Odin ?.

The Isu language –

As experts say, the Isu language was created specifically by the developers of Assassin’s Creed and in particular by Antoine Henry, associate game director of Ubisoft Singapore. “Starting from the main game of Valhalla it was introduced to represent the written and spoken language of the First Civilization, the civilization of super-technological beings lived in the past that have permeated the saga since its creation” and, as a true language and own, contains “grammatical rules, words with roots and endings, grammatical cases that indicate the various complements, verbs with different endings to indicate the subject and the tense, adverbs “.

The Isu language is also referred to as a “progenitor language from which, within the lore of the saga, all the Indo-European languages, such as Latin, Greek and Sanskrit, which then led to the languages ??we speak now ?and the developers have even inserted common words between the languages ??in order to increase the credibility of their link. “The Isu language is also created as if it were an enigma to be solved: the developers have never published rules and it is up to the fans to understand and translate each new sentence released using those already translated previously”.

The fact that the intertwining of Isu and Norse mythology is more involved in the story suggests a closure with a bang for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. After an interlocutory Year 1 and in view of the reopening of the games with the next Infinity, is just what it would take: both for the fans, whose passion is bearing ever more surprising fruits, as demonstrated by Access the Animus, and for the Ubisoft series.

The awareness of the reality of the dramatic ranking, far from expectations, pushes Allegri to ask his players for silence. Responsibilities are at all levels, and involve the coach first: it couldn’t be otherwise. But there are several significant passages in Max’s sentences after the defeat in Verona, which invite the Juventus reality to a precise reflection. Most of the solutions to today’s problems could already be found at home.

SHAME

?

?Right now you have to feel the shame of having only 15 points in the standings?, Allegri’s first whack. Who does not withdraw from criticism, but continues to evidently not see the team spirit he would like from his own. Equally significant were the words of Nedved, in support of the coach: ?For what we did on the pitch, we expected a few more points. Max also needs time, he has an advantage because he already knew the environment, but he has different players compared to two years ago ?.

ALL SHUT UP

?

The Juve coach calls everyone to maximum commitment in training and above all to a long period of reconstruction of the team spirit. “The only medicine you need is to work and keep quiet”. And again: “In a few months, when playing with another spirit we will be in a different position, maybe we will raise our heads”. Juve seemed to have found the right way thanks to the nine useful results up to San Siro with Inter, but they crumbled again in the last week against two small-medium formations, returning to the mistakes of the beginning of the season with Udinese and Empoli.

HUMILITY

?

That’s why Allegri’s sharpest sentence in the scorching post-match Bentegodi turns the spotlight on the attitude of his players. “There is no great team that wins without having respect for the opponent”. A strong call to humility, to make it clear that there is no advantage to be gained from wearing the Old Lady’s jersey without showing the competitive aggression necessary to face any team, whether it is more or less of little value. Max asks his team for a mental leap.

SOCCER, NOT FOIL

?

This is why the Juventus coach points out ?with the utmost respect, football is not foil. If you meet a team that has greater intensity, you have to put yourself on their level, on the spirit, on chasing, on running towards the opponent, on going after him ?. Hellas Verona closed the match by committing twenty-two fouls, Juve only eight: it is also from these details that a player is judged.

MID RANKING

?

Allegri is the highest paid manager in Serie A and has the team with the highest salary. He knows well, as all footballers know, that this Juve is not in the middle of the table. But without a bath of humility for everyone, without a process of self-criticism functional to reconstruct the priority identity, it will be difficult to get to the bottom of it. Here: thinking as a mid-table team, which does not have to race on the others but only on itself, and finding within it the desire to improve day after day, can be a good way to change the course. Now it is really necessary.
