If there’s any character known in the MCU for their dark background, it’s Black Widow. Natasha has many times pointed out that she has red in her ledger, and she wishes to make amends for her past. Her standalone movie goes a little deeper into her training and experience with the Red Room. The bleak picture it presents makes Natasha’s death in Avengers: Endgame even more tragic.
Shang-Chi’s background is similar to Natasha’s. His father, Xu Wenwu, is the leader of the terrorist organization the Ten Rings. While significantly less creepy than the Red Room’s General Dreykov, Xu Wenwu is still ruthless and exposes his son to methods of training as brutal as those of the Widows.

The most pleasant surprise of the movie is her sister, the sarcastic and occasionally almost innocent Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh. Rachel Weisz’s Melina Vostokoff becomes their adoptive mother during an undercover mission in Ohio when Natasha and Yelena are only children. Together with the Red Guardian Alexei Shostakov, they reunite years later to take down the Red Room.
Shang-Chi is also surrounded by strong female characters. His mother, Ying Li, is the guardian of the mystical dimension of Ta Lo, a role she gives up to marry his father. His aunt Ying Nan takes over after that, although they only meet many years later. His sister, Xialing, is just as talented as him in martial arts. His friend Katy Chen may not have any mystical abilities, but she definitely has the determined heart of a draconic protector.

Despite the abundance of female characters in Shang-Chi, the focus still remains very much on the conflict between Shang-Chi and his father. It’s only natural, as this is Shang-Chi’s origin story. Still, fans undoubtedly look forward to seeing more of the new Marvel ladies Shang-Chi has introduced.
Unsurprisingly, the dynamic is different in Black Widow. It may have been meant to be Natasha’s origin story, but it comes a little too late for that. However, most of the cast members?including the secondary villain, Taskmaster?are women. If the post-credit scene is to be believed, Yelena Belova will definitely play an important role in the future of the MCU.

Beyond the mystical element, Shang-Chi is a family drama. It centers on a grieving husband who loses his mind and abuses his two children. Her reunion with Shang-Chi is a violent match in her fight club. They’re then captured by their father and forcibly brought home, to the headquarters of the Ten Rings.

Natasha and Yelena also fight upon seeing each other again, and, in both movies, there are awkward meals that end very poorly. By the end of Black Widow, the characters manage to more or less fix their relationship. Yelena no longer seems to resent her adoptive family. Natasha admits that their family was real to her too, just like it was to Yelena. Melina and Alexei assist them to take down the Red Room, even if it’s something that goes against their own training. Yelena is last seen at Natasha’s tomb, mourning her sister.
Shang-Chi doesn’t get that kind of closure with his family. He seems to mourn his father when he watches Xu Wenwu die, but then goes back to his old life without too much trouble and begins to work with the Avengers. The addition of Katy Chen’s family provides a look into the lives of regular Asian Americans, while the creatures inhabiting and protecting Ta Lo come from Chinese mythology. The beautiful flow of the martial arts fighting in Shang-Chi is reminiscent of traditional Kung-fu movies. Black Widow is more similar to Winter Soldier in nature, a spy-themed thriller weaved into a world of superheroes.

The Black Widows are also being manipulated by General Dreykov. His daughter Antonia receives the same treatment, and Dreykov turns her into his greatest warrior, the Taskmaster.

Black Widow‘s General Dreykov is just a regular human. Melina is the one who creates the serum he uses to control the Widows. He applies a pheromonal lock to all Red Room personnel, keeping them from hurting him. The only antidote for the serum is the red dust, synthesized by an older Widow from Melina’s generation. The pheromonal lock can be countered by severing one’s olfactory nerve.

The song expresses the desire for rebirth and to get out of one’s lair to get to know and face the outside world. Musically, The it features a hypnotic guitar arpeggio that makes it energetic and bright. Season wrote, produced and played the song. In packaging it, he paid great attention to the sounds and arrangements, making it a real trademark. Recording, mixing and mastering are the work of Matilde Davoli At Sudestudio (Guagnano, LE).
Season, the new album is coming
With The, the artist continues his new musical journey, which began with Dive and the double single Wall / Kintsugi.
The debut of Season dates back to October 2017 when he releases the single Aftermath of a Defeat for the Collective HMCF, also producing the video clip shot in Salento in the previous summer. In the rehearsal room with Alessandro Gatto (guitar), Eliano Ficca (battery) e Federico Cataldi (bass) prepares some live shows and perfects the arrangements of the songs which will then be recorded at Sudestudio from Guagnano (LE) between April e December 2019 gives Matilde Davoli, which also takes care of the mixing and mastering. During this period he collaborates with Nostromo in the production of his first album Minuetto, playing the guitar and accompanying him on tour.
The is the third stage of the journey that will lead to the release of the album scheduled for next autumn.

Three rovers are traversing the rocky, red surface of Mars today. NASA?s Perseverance rover, which arrived in February, has collected its first sample, NASA announced late Monday, after an initial sampling attempt with another rock a month ago went awry when the rock turned to powder before it could be placed in a sample tube. Curiosity continues its ascent up Mount Sharp in Gale Crater, its instruments probing the changes in the terrain as is goes across different layers and different geological eras. China?s Zhurong rover, meanwhile, continues to explore its landing site after exceeding its planned three-month mission, although Chinese scientists have not offered many details about the rover?s scientific output so far.
All three rovers, as well as NASA?s InSight lander and a multinational fleet of orbiters, are trying to understand not just the present condition of Mars but also its past. How did the planet change over the 4.5-billion-year history of the solar system? What happened to the water that appears to have once existed in liquid form on its surface? Did the planet ever harbor life, and does it still do so today?
?Our view of Mars as cold, airless and dead is in need of serious revision,? he writes. ?Its heart may be slowing, its lungs barely inflating, its blood sluggish, but there are planetary-scale systems still in motion.?
Those are the questions that Simon Morden takes up in his new book, The Red Planet. Morden, a former planetary geologist who later became a science fiction writer, acknowledges at the beginning of the book that many of those questions lack definitive answers, but no shortage of potential explanations. ?I?m here to tell you about Mars, with all its ambiguities, and about the times when, honestly, I think it?s lying to us,? he writes.
The book?s subtitle, ?A Natural History of Mars,? is an accurate description of its contents. Morden goes through the planet?s geological history, from its formation with the rest of the solar system through its various eras to the present day. He examines what is known, and what isn?t, about the planet?s various features, from the ?Great Dichotomy? between the cratered highlands of the southern hemisphere and the smooth lowlands of the northern hemisphere, to the formation of major features like Olympus Mons and Valles Marineris. While the book focuses mainly on geology, he does examine what conditions might have existed when for supporting life.
The book can, at times, be dense with geological terminology and the Latin-based terminology for those features as well as place names themselves; Morden offers an explainer at the beginning of the book but that can be lost later in the book. The electronic review copy provided for this review does not include any illustrations, which hopefully is an oversight. Images and illustrations would be helpful to explain both the features he describes in the book as well as the processes that may have formed them.
In the book?s final chapter, Morden takes up the issue of later human exploration and settlement of Mars. He doesn?t take a stand for or against such missions (nor mentions by name people pushing for them, like Elon Musk), but instead points out the both the benefits and drawbacks of sending people to Mars. ?Even if we started out with good intentions not to change Mars, we?d do it anyway,? he argues, be it through biological contamination or using resources like ice that are also of scientific interest.
One message Morden concludes the book with is that Mars is not the dead planet many assume it to be, in either a geological or potentially biological sense. ?Our view of Mars as cold, airless and dead is in need of serious revision,? he writes. ?Its heart may be slowing, its lungs barely inflating, its blood sluggish, but there are planetary-scale systems still in motion.?
