First, it was a miracle that such a great album (and double!) Came out in the middle of such tremendous chaos in that nineteenth-century French mansion. From the tug of war by the leadership of the group and the imposition of styles between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the method of the latter prevailed. The guitarist, who carried so much heroin and speed On top of that there were days when he could not get up, he has always thrown this album in the face of the singer to justify his strength. Exile on Main St. It is more the result of the chaos of Richards than of the head of Jagger, who, without giving his arm to twist in the peacock fight, ended up denying him. Bad, Mick. Although understandable: he was at the forefront of the lawsuits to regain the rights of the group against the former manager Allen Klein while Keith was high all day.

From those impromptu sessions, a catchy sound came out, but full of riffs refreshing. A rock and roll with a magnetic drunken and rogue cadence, a fabulous apparent anarchy: despite the organizational disaster, the album maintains a strange little-known thematic harmony. It is divided into four parts, one for each side of the double disc. The first is a southern rock lightning ride, including a tribute to the boogie de Slim Harpo en Shake Your Hips. The second is the acoustic face with mid-beats rich in weeping harmonics and a Jagger like singing through swampy swamps. In the third, the trip through the Delta picks up electric speed while entering a feverish and dreamy atmosphere hoodoo. And the fourth closes with four pildorazos of soul and a sweeping wind section. Everything that The Rolling Stones had been was here, but also everything higher than you could imagine.

That is another contradiction. How is it possible that those billionaires who had a private plane and were they exiled in France to flee from the British Treasury could they sound so youthful, innocent, adrenaline-pumping and full? Even more than ever! In addition to the mansion, Richards set up a mobile studio on a luxury yacht and Jagger bought the house from Picasso in the commune of Mougins. They were supernovae packed with pounds behaving like millionaires wasting dollars on the Côte d’Azur. The answer, beyond the talent of the Jagger-Richards-Watts trio, responds to the best accompaniment the group has ever had. On bass was Bill Wyman and the other luxurious squire was guitarist Mick Taylor, bringing his delicious funk touch. Big words. And you have to add a marvelous team: Billy Preston’s organ, Bobby Keys’s saxophone, the pedal steel by Al Perkins, the pianos by Dr. John and Ian Stewart and the drums and percussion by Jimmy Miller, who also served as producer. Nobody squeezed out the group’s festive fierceness better than he did, who, like Taylor and Anita Pallenberg, ended up junkie and wasted alongside Richards in those years.

Exile on Main St., whose cover was created by the prestigious photographer Robert Frank, It is the pinnacle of the wild madness of The Rolling Stones. Although in the seventies great albums such as Goats Head Soup O Some Girls, this double album is his latest masterpiece.

How would you spend a week if you knew it was the last?

The questions couldn’t be more personal.

Burkeman says we are closer to being in that position at all times than is comfortable to admit.

The first sentence of the book, repeated for emphasis on the last page, is: “The average length of human life is absurd, terrifying, and insultingly short“About 4,000 weeks, on average, hence the title.

For more than a decade, Burkeman, a British journalist based in New York, wrote a periodical series for The Guardian titled EThis column will change your life, in which he explored “routes to mental well-being”, both seriously and skeptically.

A previous book of his was titled “The Antidote: Happiness for People Who Can’t Stand Positive Thinking.”

Burkeman’s work could be conveniently placed on a shelf alongside the books published by the School of Life in Alain de Botton, tips with literary flavor on love, friendship, work and other enigmas.

Burkeman quotes everyone from Nietzsche and Seneca to Rod Stewart Y Danielle Steel, to make your case.

The main one is stop trying so hard.

“No one in human history has achieved ‘work-life balance,’ whatever that is,” he writes, “and you certainly won’t get there by copying the ‘six things successful people do before 7 in the morning'”.

Also, doing more is just a way of inviting … to do more.

“Every time you reply to an email, there is a good chance of provoking a reply to that email, which in turn may require another reply, and so on, until the death by heat of the universe “.

Rather than lists of things to do before you’re fully awake or paths to get to inbox zero, Burkeman offers a few history lessons, a bit of Buddhist philosophy here and there, and a few real tips.

“The true measure of any time management technique is whether or not it helps you neglect the right things.”

At the beginning of the book, we go back to the time of medieval farmers, who, Burkeman says, did not even think or experience time as “an abstract entity – as a thing.”

Nature and need provided a rhythm for days and tasks, and they just followed that rhythm.

But then, at some point (capitalism hashtag?), “Time became a thing used“, a resource that you could feel bad about because of its mishandling.

Burkeman wants “inciting us to question the very idea that time is something you use in the first place. “

He likes italics.

One way to do this is to exercise Buddhist-type detachment and acceptance.

“The world is already broken”Burkeman writes, and so is the possibility of you taking advantage of your time.

In the face of the tyranny of choice, you can find the freedom (and presumably stress relief) in understanding that “you are guaranteed to miss almost every experience the world has to offer.”

He lost me a bit when he wrote that time is a “network good“something that is best optimized between groups of people to” socialize, go out on dates, raise children, launch businesses, build political movements, make technological advancements “- but that’s only because, other than socializing, I really don’t want to do none of those things.

No contemporary time management guide can ignore the need to ignore our phones, and Burkeman pauses to acknowledge the plague of care.

After describing your use of Twitter, says that “he is now in recovery.” Besides Twitter, I have spent a not inconsiderable part of the prime of my life playing various anagram games on my phone. And you?

In the end, some of Burkeman’s advice (“focus on one big project at a time”, “keep a to-do list”) seem like disappointingly traditional, considering how well he is at marking the kitsch of your gender.

As another example, on one page he is shown scathing with the command of mindfulness of “being here now”.

“It’s like trying too hard to fall asleep and therefore failing.”

Then, near the end of the book, he advises us to “pay more attention to each moment, however mundane“.

But part of the pleasure of reading Burkeman is that you assume that he would gladly point out these same setbacks and contradictions.

His tone is neither confident nor hurtful; is in the same boat bored where we are, just trying to stop things where he can.

Despite my airport habits, there are things I want to achieve in this life.

And some of Burkeman’s modest suggestions on how to prioritize things, without simply adding stress about prioritizing things in life, seem to be worth trying.

And in addition to the help you can offer, “Four thousand weeks“It is also good company; it tackles important, even existential issues, with a sense of humor and a balanced perspective.

It seemed to me that reading it – Burkeman might reject this particular way of describing it – was a good use of my time.

How did the couple get to this point? To understand this, you have to go back to 1994. Phil Collins was in the middle of the divorce process with his then wife, Jill Tavelman, with whom he had his daughter Lily Collins. The singer went on a tour of Switzerland that year and it was during it that he met Orianne Cevey, who at that time was working as a translator for the singer. Love arose between them and five years later were married through a wedding that lasted three days and it cost more than $ 600,000. Together they had two children, Nicholas and Matthew, but seven years later the relationship ended and they divorced in 2008.

But disappointment has now come back to the singer’s life. At 69, Phill Collins has learned that Last August, his 46-year-old wife had secretly married another man in Las Vegas. ‘Daily Mail’ has managed to get the official document of Cevey’s wedding to Thomas Bates, a 31-year-old businessman, at the Graceland wedding chapel, which proves the betrayal.

Collins accuses his wife of having squandered his fortune and cheated on him, reasons why he has asked him to pack his bags and leave the Miami mansion.
?The Atlas Underground Fire? is the title of the album in which the guitarist has had different collaborations from bands such as Bring Me The Horizon, Phantogram or artists like those already mentioned, Chris Stapleton, Mike Posner O Dennis Lyxzén of Refused, with which he has recorded a dozen versions that Morello has shaped during this time of pandemic, as he himself has commented: ?During the confinement I did not have access to a sound engineer, so I had to record all the parts of the guitar into voice notes from my phone. It seemed like an unacceptable idea, but it led to a freedom in creativity where I couldn’t think too much about any of the guitar parts and just had to trust my instincts. This album was a lifesaver in a difficult time that allowed me to find new ways to create new global artistic connections that helped transform a moment of fear and anxiety into one of musical expression and rock improvisations ?.

In the guitarist’s words about the AC / DC version: ?Our version of? Highway To Hell ?is a tribute to AC / DC, but with Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder taking this legendary song into the future. One of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll songs of all time sung by two of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll singers of all time. And then I drop a guitar solo ?.

The album will see the light next October 15 under the label Mom + Pop Music. These are the songs that he will present to us:

double agent

The new Dual Agent mode arrives with the release of Season 5 and changes the gameplay dynamics in multiplayer in ways never seen before in the Call of Duty franchise. The new mode proposes an investigative experience between players who must communicate, to find clues and expose traitorous team members. In contrast, the traitorous members (double agents) must sabotage or kill the investigative team to win. The mode will feature 10 players and each role will have unique weapons, abilities and content. Voice chat is highly recommended.

Demolition

Throughout the season the classic Demolition mode comes to Call of Duty: Black Ops ? Cold War multiplayer. Alternating between the two teams, the attackers’ objective is to detonate a pair of active bombs on the map while the defenders try to prevent the detonation.

Zombies Mode

For zombies mode, the new season adds a new perk, called death perception and a new field improvement, Tesla storm.
The advantage death perception is the ninth advantage released for zombie mode and allows operators to see zombies and other enemies more easily. A glowing outline highlights the enemy. The perk can be unlocked by using Aetherium crystals from the menu before matches and, like the other perks, improves as you unlock the five skill levels.
The improvement of Tesla Storm Field activates an electric shock field between the player and their allies to stun and injure enemies. As the field upgrade evolves, electricity can stun more powerful enemies like special and elite zombies, as well as increase squadron movement speed.
To Epidemic mode, a new map called Collateral will be added along with a new objective. The new objective is to transport a battle tank to safety while being attacked by zombie ords and other elite enemies. The new vehicle, tank of war, enters as one of the novelties of this season.
Another new feature is the addition of the hook pistol, an item that will be essential to improve mobility on large maps in epidemic mode.

New weapons and new scoring series

The Call of Duty: Black Ops ? Cold War / Warzone Season 5 Battle Pass will feature four new weapons. Two will be unlocked for free by advancing battle pass levels, the EM2 assault rifle and the TEC-9 submachine gun, and two others, with Bengal hand-to-hand weapon and Marshal pistol, can be unlocked throughout the season through specific challenges.
Para o Call of duty: Black Ops ?
The popular Battle Royale mode of the Call of Duty franchise will feature significant changes in Season 5. In addition to new weapons that can change the current game’s goal, the addition of 2 new advantages promise to bring about significant changes in the way games played at Verdansk in the 1980s.
The two new advantages are Seasoned and Combat Scout, and can be added in the class assembly. The Tempered advantage makes the operator use stronger armor, requiring only two armor plates for the player to have full armor, currently it takes three armor to complete the armor. With the combat Scout advantage, the operator who has the selected advantage in his class can see enemies that are hit by his shots more easily, the hit opponent will be highlighted with an orange aura.
As with every beginning of the season, a new special event will be added and should mark the games of the first weeks. The addition of Mobile Broadcast Stations and the instability of the red doors could bring more information to be unraveled throughout the new season.

Find him beauty to melancholy is not something so simple. And although the idea seems like a titanic task, it is through music that this path can be experienced, same as only some minds like that of Nick Cave can define.

The Australian composer is precisely one of those artists capable of find inspiration in the hardest moments. And well, maybe he is not the only one with that ability, but he is surely among those who incarnate with great intensity in the most nostalgic part of his own life to give the foundation to his work. The proof of this is in one of his most famous compositions: ?Into My Arms?.

Nick Cave en el video de ?Into My Arms?. Foto: YouTube

Out of the rubble of a tortuous experiential time, this theme was born which, in itself, unfolds as a joint reflection on Nick’s own detox, his ill-fated romances, and his non-religious outlook of one’s own life.

A change of theme in romance

Like any artist hungry to experience new horizons, Nick Cave junto a The Bad Seeds he took on the task of giving a new air to his work. Around 1997, the Melbourne native had just experienced a good reception and total success with the album. Murder Ballads a year earlier, driven primarily by the single ?Where the Wild Roses Grow? next to Kylie Minogue.

The album was characterized by having a well-defined narrative about the ‘crimes of passion’ and their consequences, almost as if it were a literary novel. This theme, however, would not be required in the next recording effort of the composer who got rid of that element, but without abandoning the eternal melancholic embrace that has been substantial in his work.

A year later, as we well know, a new record material was displayed on the scene. One that would return to disrupt the densest and most nostalgic fibers of Nick himself, but to a greater degree because of the whirlwind of life that was coming for him.

The detox period

Of course, that image or that life of ‘rockstarismo’ takes its toll on the great idols sooner or later. Some cling to uncontrolled madness and others, in a shriek of liveliness, take the reins away from the insane fun of excess. That was the case with Nick Cave in the 90s when he had to be admitted for the second time in a period of rehabilitation.

It is said that he, like other returning addicts, were asked to come to the chapel of the detox clinic to pray. This act, of course, works for many, but in Cave’s case his mind would set him a kind of ‘trap’ that It would end up giving him inspiration to write a rather peculiar song.

Nick Cave and 1998. Photo: Getty

?In the first few days that you have not slept, you are withdrawing from drugs, you are sick. You try to make the best of a bad situation “Nick said in a 2009 interview with Mojo about that difficult time. It was at that moment that he began to design the lyrics of ?Into My Arms?.

Love complications

Before that period of confinement -and coupled with a heroin addiction from years ago-, Nick Cave came from overcoming two complicated breakups in the field of love. The first was the separation from his first wife, the Brazilian journalist Vivianne Carneiro with whom he was married for six years and had a son until they said goodbye in 1996.

The second break, one of the most talked about among the fans, was the one he made with Polly Jean ?PJ? Harvey. They both had a brief affair between 1995 and 1996 that, among other things, is remembered for her foray into the material Murder Ballads with some creative collaboration and its appearance in the video of the song ?Henry Lee?.

<iframe loading="lazy" title="Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Henry Lee ft.
As they say out there, in a matter of relationships, time does not matter but quality. That seems to have applied for Nick and Polly in their brief but meaningful romance. “I was so surprised that I almost dropped the syringe on the ground”Said the Australian during a round of questions conducted by the website The Red Hand Files, with statements collected from ABC, about the moment he received the call from Harvey who was determined to end him.

?Drugs could be a problem between us, but also other things. I still had trouble with my understanding of the concept of monogamy and Polly had her own stories, I suspect, but at the end of the day we were two wildly creative people, both too self-centered to be able to occupy the same space in any meaningful sense?, finished Cave in that revelation.

She called and, according to the composer, finished with him. His next long-term reaction, away from that syringe he dropped after PJ’s call, was to write an album more personal than narrative. Thus was born The Boatman?s Call.

The first song of the material is ?Into My Arms?, a song of simple composition (on piano, voice and bass) that evokes all that tortuous stage between rehabilitation, a slight approach to religion and love breaks. Hence, that verse that says “I don’t believe in angels, but when I see you, I start to doubt it”.

Even more shocking is the one who mentions that if he really believed in them, ?I would ask them to take care of you, to light each one a candle to guide, illuminate and guide your path “. A war between beliefs and their revolt against love as proof of divine existence. A piece that only a complicated man like Nick Cave could have offered to the world. That’s the beauty of melancholy.

As they say out there, in a matter of relationships, time does not matter but quality.
