Looks like the curator/composers of Rogers: The Musical theme that played in the first episode of the Disney+ series Hawkeye wants to stretch that number from a small stint to an entire Broadway production. In a discussion with Entertainment Weekly, when asked if they would ever consider doing a Marvel musical, songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman took no time admitting that they would love to. Wittman said,
“Of course! Get people to start calling Kevin on the phone and tell him.”
The songwriters revealed that they both had a different approach towards the concept of a musical number, which was a first for MCU; however, Shaiman was just excited to impress his husband who apparently is a huge Marvel fan.
“We thought, this is a crazy idea and we definitely have to do it.” – Shaiman
Rogers: The Musical, though ran merely for five minutes in the first episode of Marvel Studios? Hawkeye, but this fictional retelling of the Battle of New York within the Marvel Cinematic Universe had a defining impact on the life of people in the MCU post-Endgame. The idea of having this flawed script (wherein Ant-Man was added into Battle of New York) presented in a musical format was to show how people in Marvel?s shared cinematic universe are perceiving the events happening around them and how they are adjusting to this new world comprising superhumans living amongst them. The number shows how these superhero stories have become like mythical legends as people have passed a blend of reality and hearsay over the years to future generations. It?s a reflection of how people are living and witnessing the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Wittman explains this in a single sentence and he seems quite on point as he says,
“They [the people within the MCU?s fictional setting] don’t go to the movies; They?re living it.”
Rogers: The Musical also puts Clint Barton in this strange and unknown place within the MCU post-Endgame. The show clearly misinterprets the actual events and takes some liberty to mold those events for the sake of entertainment which makes Barton uncomfortable and disinterested. It truly reflects the change and gap between the present and the time when Avengers first came into inception, while also making Barton skeptical about his role in this new era.
“It’s important for the Hawkeye character to watch that event that was such a seminal part of his life and feel slightly uncomfortable like, ‘what have they done to my world?” – Wittman.
Rogers: The Musical acted as an anti-thesis of people?s memories about the Chitauri invasion, while we saw the actual witnessing of the battle through a young Kate Bishop who loses her father in that fight the same day. On one hand, the event becomes something of an entertaining battle sequence through the song, while it becomes an inspiration to Kate. Though the musical stays on-screen in form of one song, it has its own impact on the overall story.

There are a million things that you could create in a Marvel musical, especially with Steve Rogers. The fact that he exists in the ’40s as well would allow us to write a whole lot of different genres, so the whole Marvel story would take place over decades. It would be a thrill to get to do that. But for now, we’re just extremely excited about the way the show came out.

O canal RAP TV acaba de revelar a lista completa com todos os indicados aos melhores do ano no Prêmio Nacional RAP TV, que chega à segunda edição com cerimônia virtual transmitida neste domingo dia 5 de dezembro. Para este ano, o Prêmio expandiu o número de categorias para 15 no total e conta com um corpo de jurados técnicos de mais de 200 pessoas, entre jornalistas, produtores de conteúdo e agentes culturais do Hip-Hop. A categoria ?Hit do Ano? tem votação pública através das redes sociais do RAP TV com o uso de hashtags; a categoria ?Aposta RAP TV? é votada pela própria produção do canal e a categoria ?Música Mais Streamada? é apontada pelo número de plays nos serviços de streaming.

Tant?a Festival
Sob a curadoria e produção a partir da parceria entre o coletivo Tant?a, a agência Entourage e a produtora Radix, a 1º edição do Tant?a Festival acontece no dia 18 de dezembro, no Pavilhão do Anhembi, na zona norte de São Paulo. No total serão 14 apresentações em um evento considerado um verdadeiro ritual, que têm seus DJs apelidados de Xamãs, e o público que constitui uma grande tribo, ou o encontro de todas as tribos.
São esperadas cerca de 5.000 pessoas, na programação composta por nomes nacionais e internacionais de destaque na cena da música eletrônica. As apresentações serão divididas em dois palcos, The Cave (Techno) e The Jack (House), em ambientes amplos e ventilados, respeitando o distanciamento social e ocupação de apenas um terço de sua capacidade máxima.

Acontece até o dia 10 de dezembro a sétima edição da Ciranda de Filmes. Com programação online e gratuita, a mostra referência em infância, juventude, arte e educação terá exibição de filmes, uma oficina e cinco rodas de conversa. Em 2021, a Ciranda é realizada em parceria com o Itaú Cultural, que acolhe desde setembro a Ocupação Paulo Freire, em homenagem ao centenário do educador e patrono da educação brasileira.

Mulheres repentistas
Entre os dias 03 e 04 de dezembro, a partir das 17h, São Paulo recebe o espetáculo Mulheres de Repente, no Centro Cultural do Grajaú, em São Paulo (SP), com participação e mediação da multiartista pernambucana Luna Vitrolira.
Na sexta-feira (3) às 17h acontece a palestra A letra, a voz e o corpo: poética do rap e do repente?, seguida pela mesa de debate Trânsito na poesia: lugar de mulher é onde ela quiser e de um sarau com microfone aberto. Toda atividade tem duração de aproximadamente 2h30.
Já no sábado (4), também às 17h o espaço recebe a Mesa de Glosas: Mulheres de Repente, que contará com a participação de Elenilda Amaral (Afogados da Ingazeira), Erivoneide Amaral (Afogados da Ingazeira), Dayanne Rocha (Brejinho de Tabira) e Francisca Araújo (Iguaracy). The Wailers no Brasil

Nelson Ayres, Rodolfo Stroeter, Paulo Bellinati, Teco Cardoso e Ricardo Mosca integram o grupo Pau Brasil desde o ano de 2005 e vêm atuando como uma das mais destacadas formações da música instrumental contemporânea do Brasil. O Sepultura se prepara para fazer o retorno aos palcos depois de mais de dois anos longe do público. Esse momento se torna ainda mais especial por se tratar do show de lançamento do álbumQuadra, que a banda foi impedida de fazer turnê por conta da pandemia do novo coronavírus. O canal RAP TV acaba de revelar a lista completa com todos os indicados aos melhores do ano no Prêmio Nacional RAP TV, que chega à segunda edição com cerimônia virtual transmitida neste domingo dia 5 de dezembro. Para este ano, o Prêmio expandiu o número de categorias para 15 no total e conta com um corpo de jurados técnicos de mais de 200 pessoas, entre jornalistas, produtores de conteúdo e agentes culturais do Hip-Hop. A categoria ?Hit do Ano? tem votação pública através das redes sociais do RAP TV com o uso de hashtags; a categoria ?Aposta RAP TV? é votada pela própria produção do canal e a categoria ?Música Mais Streamada? é apontada pelo número de plays nos serviços de streaming.

Tant?a Festival
Sob a curadoria e produção a partir da parceria entre o coletivo Tant?a, a agência Entourage e a produtora Radix, a 1º edição do Tant?a Festival acontece no dia 18 de dezembro, no Pavilhão do Anhembi, na zona norte de São Paulo. No total serão 14 apresentações em um evento considerado um verdadeiro ritual, que têm seus DJs apelidados de Xamãs, e o público que constitui uma grande tribo, ou o encontro de todas as tribos.
São esperadas cerca de 5.000 pessoas, na programação composta por nomes nacionais e internacionais de destaque na cena da música eletrônica. As apresentações serão divididas em dois palcos, The Cave (Techno) e The Jack (House), em ambientes amplos e ventilados, respeitando o distanciamento social e ocupação de apenas um terço de sua capacidade máxima.

Com programação online e gratuita, a mostra referência em infância, juventude, arte e educação terá exibição de filmes, uma oficina e cinco rodas de conversa. Em 2021, a Ciranda é realizada em parceria com o Itaú Cultural, que acolhe desde setembro a Ocupação Paulo Freire, em homenagem ao centenário do educador e patrono da educação brasileira.

Entre os dias 03 e 04 de dezembro, a partir das 17h, São Paulo recebe o espetáculo Mulheres de Repente, no Centro Cultural do Grajaú, em São Paulo (SP), com participação e mediação da multiartista pernambucana Luna Vitrolira.
Na sexta-feira (3) às 17h acontece a palestra A letra, a voz e o corpo: poética do rap e do repente?, seguida pela mesa de debate Trânsito na poesia: lugar de mulher é onde ela quiser e de um sarau com microfone aberto. Toda atividade tem duração de aproximadamente 2h30.
Já no sábado (4), também às 17h o espaço recebe a Mesa de Glosas: Mulheres de Repente, que contará com a participação de Elenilda Amaral (Afogados da Ingazeira), Erivoneide Amaral (Afogados da Ingazeira), Dayanne Rocha (Brejinho de Tabira) e Francisca Araújo (Iguaracy). A number of well-known artists and children have been nominated, such as these categories that will be able to be voted on via IG and RCTI+ are 9 categories and 2 special categories including ‘the category of favorite animation series’. This nomination is determined based on the featured cartoons that aired on MNCTV in December 2020 ? December 2021, the ‘beloved idol category’ in this nomination is a singer or soap opera star, idolized by Indonesian children and youth, popular and actively appearing on MNCTV. This nomination ‘baby celebrity category’ contains celebrity children aged 1.5 – 3 years who are in the spotlight on social media, have their own social media accounts & are loved by the public because of their cute & adorable behavior.
Then ‘Category of favorite celebrity kids’ This category consists of celebrity children aged 4-7 years who are in the spotlight on television and are favored by the public. The ‘beloved mother-to-be’ category in this category are celebrities who are pregnant with their first child, and are active on social media. The ‘favorite daddy category’ is an award for a father figure among celebrities who have a close relationship with their children on social media and television who are able to provide inspiration to improve the quality of the bond between father and son. Sept. 15 marked the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month, and Mercyhurst has cause to celebrate. The ?Arte Hispano? event took place on Sept. 16 in the Grotto Commons Hallway to begin the month?s festivities.
Arte Hispano began at 11 a.m. and went on until 4 p.m. During this event, students were able to observe a pop-up gallery of Hispanic art, poems, lyrics and the stories behind the art. Some paintings that were seen at the gallery were Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, leader of the Mexican War of Independence by José Clemente Orozco, Manifestation by Antonio Berni and even Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali.
It is always interesting to see the influence of people from different cultures, how they express themselves and how they view the world. ?It is important to highlight all cultures that are represented on Mercyhurst?s campus and in the world in general,? said Jessica Hubert, Mercyhurst?s Multicultural and Inclusion coordinator.
?The total population of His-panic folks in the U.S. is about 60.5 million and is continuing to grow. That?s a significant amount of people living around us, and we need to learn about their history and customs just the same as they learn about the dominant culture?s (White) history and customs,? said Hubert.
Arte Hispano also featured poems like ?AmeRican? by Tato Laviera, ?The Sad Mother? by Gabriela Mistral and ?I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You? by Pablo Neruda, a Chilean poet-diplomat who met Gabriela Mistral when he was only twelve. The photos and names of many Hispanic artists, poets and lyricists were the final part of the exhibit. The exhibit highlighted their personal histories and how each of them got started with their careers.
Arte Hispano was the kick-off event for National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations on cam-pus, but other events are happening throughout the month. There will be a ?Lo Que Paso, Paso? party on Sept. 29 and a movie showing of ?In The Heights? on Oct. 8.
?I?m especially excited for the ?Lo Que Paso, Paso? party happening on Sept. 29 from 12 ? 2p.m. in the Great Room,? Hubert said. ?Along with some delicious Hispanic food, the Dance Department is bringing a fantastic Flamenco dancer, Alice Blumenfeld, who is going to teach two flamenco lessons (sign-ups can be found in the @hurstcampuslife Instagram bio). There is also another opportunity to learn to Bomba dance in the Taylor Little Theater on Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.?
The ?In The Heights? film showing will be at 6 p.m. in Zurn 114. The movie was directed by Jon M. Chu, the screenplay was written by Quiara Alegría Hudes and the music and lyrics were written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. ?In The Heights? is based on a book of the same title written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Quiara Alegría Hudes and Jeremy McCarter.

This summer was a big one for the Stockholm, Sweden-based Sandvik. The industrial engineering giant has spent the last few months announcing some of its latest acquisitions, including metrology provider DWFritz Automation, CAD/CAM software developer Cambrio, round tool manufacturer Fanar, and most recently, Mastercam developer CNC Software. This latest acquisition pushes the company further into the CAM market but has left many wondering what that means for Mastercam users.
Mathias Johansson, president of design and planning automation for Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions, and Meghan West, CEO/president of CNC Software, answered several hot-topic questions.
Canadian Metalworking: Why was this a good time for Sandvik to acquire CNC Software?
Mathias Johansson: The objective of Sandvik is to outperform market growth with industry-leading solutions, both organically and through acquisitions. Sandvik identified Cambrio and CNC Software as part of a long-term strategic view that is beneficial to each company.
The investment is to enable accelerated growth of the Design & Planning Automation Division. We have identified computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) as a key market for Sandvik to enter due to its attractive growth rates and its proximity to Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions? core business, allowing Sandvik to establish a leading position within digital manufacturing.
We see a direct customer demand for more automated and integrated machining recommendations and solutions. Having CAM in the portfolio will help us meet such demand and further establish Sandvik as the preferred partner and leader within machining, while at the same time driving our long-term goal to becoming a trusted provider of digital manufacturing solutions for small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Meghan West: We have been pioneering CAM software for nearly 40 years. In that time, we have gotten a lot of offers, but none of them held much interest for us. Our primary driver has been?and continues to be?a focus on helping shops solve their manufacturing problems.
If we were going to consider an acquisition, we wanted to ensure that everything that benefitted our customers remained intact?and that any acquisition offered significant opportunity for us to accelerate and improve CAM development.
Sandvik offered a couple of critical pieces. First, they have a clear and deep-rooted focus on manufacturing. Second, their company philosophy is very similar to our own. We want to make sure decisions continue to be made as close to the customer as possible to ensure that we are addressing the right manufacturing issues. We have also partnered with Sandvik in the past, helping create cutter paths to properly drive their PrimeTurning tools.
As the industry accelerates and consolidation becomes much more common, Sandvik gives us the clear advantage of access to resources and manufacturing information that will help us stay at the top of the CAM market and continue to deliver innovative tools to shops worldwide.
CM: What is the vision and future for the acquisition? What will change and what will stay the same?
Johansson: The plan is for both Cambrio and CNC Software to continue to operate as separate business units within our Design & Planning Automation Division. We see both companies play important roles to help us drive and realize our strategic vision?to automate the manufacturing value chain for SMEs.

With both these acquisitions still subject to closing or just having closed, we are of course at a very early stage. We believe in the strength of the individual products of each organisation which complement our current offerings and strengthen the Sandvik position to automate the manufacturing value chain.
West: One of our priorities was to make sure there was no disruption to the global Mastercam community. Management, development staff, officers, support staff, reseller channel, pricing, availability?everything is staying intact. From the customer standpoint, the only change they should see is better and better CAM tools in the years to come.
One remarkable thing about Sandvik is that they acknowledge the reality of open systems and multi-brand shops. It?s rare that a shop uses just one software, machine tool, or brand of tooling. To really be effective, manufacturing solutions need to remain as open as possible to allow shops to use what fits their needs. Sandvik embraces this, encouraging our existing and future wide-ranging partnerships.
CM: How will Sandvik support multiple or competing CAM software brands under one umbrella?
Johansson: Cambrio?s GibbsCAM and CNC Software?s Mastercam each have strong positions within their respective customer segments and markets with loyal customer bases, which we believe will remain and grow for years to come.
GibbsCAM specialises in the more complex machining niches like Swiss machining and mill turning, while Mastercam is a more intuitive and broad-based solution.
Cambrio also includes Cimatron for mold and die and SigmaNEST for strong material utilisation and nesting efficiency.
West: While Sandvik and its subsidiaries can provide a base of resources we can leverage within Mastercam, the need to maintain customer efficiency and address different issues remains. This means that for now, these products serve distinct needs, and any potential technology partnering would primarily be addressed company-to-company between business units under the Sandvik umbrella.
It?s also important to note that our data integrity remains intact. Our customer data remains with us, meaning other companies under the Sandvik umbrella do not have access to our customer data and vice versa.
CM: What excites you about the future of the CAM market?
Johansson: The acquisitions strengthen Sandvik?s position within digital machining and manufacturing. The CAM portfolio, in combination with our existing offerings and extensive manufacturing capabilities, will make Sandvik a leader in the overall CAM market measured in installed base.
Already a market leader in machining solutions, we think the experience and knowledge we have in that field will help us develop an Industry 4.0 position in the advanced metal component manufacturing industry.
With the acquisition, CNC Software wanted to make sure decisions continue to be made as close to the customer as possible to ensure that it is addressing the right manufacturing issues, said Meghan West. CNC Software
It is important also to add that we remain fully agnostic and able to integrate with other CAM solutions.
West: We are excited to integrate some of the manufacturing information this acquisition makes available to us. But even more exciting is that our vision lines up closely with Sandvik?s drive for automation and digitalization. We are looking to move both deeper into the automation of existing machines, but also broader in terms of better and finer control of the growing number of the incredibly sophisticated machines that are coming onto the market.

With both these acquisitions still subject to closing or just having closed, we are of course at a very early stage. We believe in the strength of the individual products of each organisation which complement our current offerings and strengthen the Sandvik position to automate the manufacturing value chain.
West: One of our priorities was to make sure there was no disruption to the global Mastercam community. Management, development staff, officers, support staff, reseller channel, pricing, availability?everything is staying intact. From the customer standpoint, the only change they should see is better and better CAM tools in the years to come.
One remarkable thing about Sandvik is that they acknowledge the reality of open systems and multi-brand shops. It?s rare that a shop uses just one software, machine tool, or brand of tooling. To really be effective, manufacturing solutions need to remain as open as possible to allow shops to use what fits their needs. Sandvik embraces this, encouraging our existing and future wide-ranging partnerships.
CM: How will Sandvik support multiple or competing CAM software brands under one umbrella?
Johansson: Cambrio?s GibbsCAM and CNC Software?s Mastercam each have strong positions within their respective customer segments and markets with loyal customer bases, which we believe will remain and grow for years to come.
GibbsCAM specialises in the more complex machining niches like Swiss machining and mill turning, while Mastercam is a more intuitive and broad-based solution.
Cambrio also includes Cimatron for mold and die and SigmaNEST for strong material utilisation and nesting efficiency.
West: While Sandvik and its subsidiaries can provide a base of resources we can leverage within Mastercam, the need to maintain customer efficiency and address different issues remains. This means that for now, these products serve distinct needs, and any potential technology partnering would primarily be addressed company-to-company between business units under the Sandvik umbrella.
It?s also important to note that our data integrity remains intact. Our customer data remains with us, meaning other companies under the Sandvik umbrella do not have access to our customer data and vice versa.
CM: What excites you about the future of the CAM market?
Johansson: The acquisitions strengthen Sandvik?s position within digital machining and manufacturing. The CAM portfolio, in combination with our existing offerings and extensive manufacturing capabilities, will make Sandvik a leader in the overall CAM market measured in installed base.
Already a market leader in machining solutions, we think the experience and knowledge we have in that field will help us develop an Industry 4.0 position in the advanced metal component manufacturing industry.
With the acquisition, CNC Software wanted to make sure decisions continue to be made as close to the customer as possible to ensure that it is addressing the right manufacturing issues, said Meghan West. CNC Software
It is important also to add that we remain fully agnostic and able to integrate with other CAM solutions.
West: We are excited to integrate some of the manufacturing information this acquisition makes available to us. But even more exciting is that our vision lines up closely with Sandvik?s drive for automation and digitalization. We are looking to move both deeper into the automation of existing machines, but also broader in terms of better and finer control of the growing number of the incredibly sophisticated machines that are coming onto the market.

Davide Giri, a 30-year-old Italian student, was killed last night in Harlem, New York. The Italian student was originally from Alba and enrolled at Columbia University since 2016. The 25-year-old Vincent Pinkney, arrested shortly after the murder near Central Park, killed him. As we read in the New York Times, Giri was stabbed in the abdomen and sustained very serious injuries that cost him his life.
